Chair Yoga

This class is taught by:

Amy Aanonsen

Amy Aanonsen, 200RYT, completed her Teacher Training in 2015 from Boundless Yoga Studio in Stroudsburg, PA. Amy has been practicing yoga since 2005 and was originally attracted to a vigorous Vinyasa practice which she still enjoys, however she found the gentler forms of practice enable her to deeply connect with her softer side and greet the world with gentle strength.
Amy has worked with the elderly and disabled for over 25 years, and has been in service of raising puppies for The Seeing Eye; these experiences have helped her to live in the present.
In addition, Amy holds her B.S. in Psychology, and an M.A. in Behavioral Science.
Her desire is to help students connect with their true self and receive all life has to offer as a lesson through the practice of yoga presented with acceptance, humor and gentle spirituality.

Nikol Kallinteris

Nikoleta Kallinteris began her yogic journey in 2006 through the practice of Ashtanga Yoga — a doorway that opened her to the deeper wisdom of yoga and its timeless teachings. Since 2010, she has shared this path with others, inviting students to cultivate body awareness, mindful reflection, and self-embodiment. Her offerings arise from a lived understanding of yoga, nurtured through the depth of her own practice.

Driven by a deep curiosity for life’s quiet mysteries, Nikol independently continues her study of sound therapy, physical vitality, spiritual discernment, and the enduring wisdom of contemplative traditions, such as the philosophy of Yoga, Zen, Buddhism, Taoism, and more.

Linda Long

Linda began her formal yoga practice in 2000 under the guidance of Michele Megargle, she immediately found a quiet comfort of self-care. This was a welcome space for her after working all day as a Critical Care Nurse. She was also raising 3 boys. She had always sat quietly and meditated during high school to find calmness, and she kept coming back to the mat while it helped her to get through everyday life off the mat. Linda wanted to share this feeling of calm curiosity with others.
Come explore and play to find your curious edge and calm with Linda.

Chair yoga caters to unique individual needs that are difficult to meet in a traditional mat class. This practice is perfect for seniors and individuals with disabilities, injuries, or anyone with some balance, strength or flexibility concerns. In chair yoga, all of the poses utilize the chair in some manner and offers all of the same benefits of a traditional yoga practice such as: mindful breathing, improved balance, increased muscle tone, greater flexibility, and enhanced peace of mind.
