PRANA FLOW

This class is taught by:

Agastya Om

Agastya

As a young child in Italy, Agastya encountered yoga early on while his parents would bring him along to meditation and chanting practices. He was raised with exposure to the practices Siddah Yoga and received his spiritual name from his guru Swami Chidvilasananda (Gurumay) at age 11. Since then he has had an intuitive interest in all practices of yogic nature.

Over the past 7 years Agastya’s connection with yoga has transitioned closer to the limb of Asana (postures). Upon completing his 200 hour Vinyasa Certification at Yoga on Main Street (in Manayunk, Pa.), he deepened his practice by exploring a variety of classes; Iyengar, Bikram, Vinyasa and Power Yoga until finally discovering a superior calling to the practice of Astanga Yoga. Subsequently, Agastya taught at Temple University and continues to draw from this experience as the foundation for all of his teachings. In 2010 while living in Rome, Italy for 8 months, Agaysta was granted the opportunity to study at the prestigious Lino Miele’s studio, and in 2011 was invited to Mexico to teach at the Ashtanga Yoga Mexico Institute when their primary teacher traveled to India to assist teaching Ashtanga in Mysore for 5 months.

Today Agastya is looking forward to transcending his meditation and asana practices to a higher ground whilst attempting to share all he knows and may have to offer with his fellow travelers.

In addition to yoga, Agastya’s deepest interests include studies of Permaculture and Integral Philosophy.

He occasionally visits the Ashra Vidya Gurukulam in Saylorsburg, Pa. to remain in touch with Yogic Philosophy.
