Join Daniel for an exploration of meditation in the yogic tradition and through a modern lens. This 4-week course is designed for any experience level, no prior knowledge is required. Attending the full series is recommended but you are welcome to drop-in for any of the classes.
--- 4-Week Itinerary ---
Week 1 - We will learn the "what, how, and why" of meditation with the history of yoga as our reference. As time allows, we will have a short session of Yoga Poses (Asanas), Breath work (Pranayama), and Mantra Chanting (Japa) followed by our Meditation and a discussion afterward. Week
2 - Learn the framework of the 5 Layers of Awareness (Koshas). We will discuss some of the hindrances which challenge our ability to progress in our meditation. After a short session of Yoga Poses (Asanas) and Breath work (Pranayama), you will be guided into deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) followed by our Meditation and a discussion afterward.
Week 3 - We will learn about the 8 Paths of Yoga and the character of our internal experience. After a short session of Yoga Poses (Asanas) and Breath work (Pranayama), we will have a session of Eye Gazing (Trataka) followed by Meditation and discussion.
Week 4 - In the culmination of our 4-week journey, we will discuss Liberation and Bliss and how they apply to the world. After a short session of Yoga Poses (Asanas) and Breath work (Pranayama), we will perform an extended group OM and Meditate for world peace.
